I was born in 1983 in Emmen, Holland. In 2001 I started studying 'Design and Technology' at the art academy in Utrecht. Soon I noticed that I was interested in music related design, e.g. flyers and music video's. The visual freedom, abstract interpretation and the possibility to communicate a story through design attracted me. At first during my study, I mostly focused on graphic design and computer illustration. Later, during my graduation project in 2006, I specialized in motion design. This because of my interest in both film and animation. In 2007 I did an internship at Onesize to learn more about the technical side of motion design. Soon after that I started working there as motion designer. Nowadays I work freelance, but next to that I also like to make as much own projects as possible, music videos and short movies.
In my projects I am often searching for a way to create an emotional experience made out of the combination of exciting graphics and audio. Sometimes from a clear thought, sometimes more abstract. But always aiming for a balanced completeness. I am using different techniques, for example illustration, live action and 3d and love to learn new applications and ways to combine them.
